EGOR PLOTNIKOV
Egor Plotnikov was born in Kirov, Russia in 1980.
The artist returns the viewer to the metaphor of the road: a road that has yet to be paved, a road without beginning or end, a symbol of the path as a process and time for reflection, and not as a means to an end.
The philosopher Fyodor Stepun romantically described the Russian landscape as “formlessness radiating into infinity, space, distance without perspective,” and Dahl’s dictionary defines space, among other things, as “relative, not unconditional emptiness.”
The landscape is not just a background for the events taking place, it can well be considered the protagonist of any story, and even the seeming emptiness of the landscape is imprinted in the consciousness of the hero, giving him space for reflection.
